International Tea & Tablescapes Fundraiser

On Sunday, March 3rd, RCF, Inc. hosted an International Tea and Tablescapes fundraiser in Zeeland, MI.  Board member, Amy Devanney, chaired the event.  The goal of the event was to raise awareness and funds for the Foundation while giving guests the opportunity to learn more about the different countries represented.
Friends of RCF, who have a connection with the countries represented, decorated individual tables that included personal collectibles, photos, information on customs and lifestyle, china, table linens and centerpieces.  Native foods, sweets, and treats from each of the countries were available for guests to sample.
A variety of countries including Sweden, Ukraine, China, Chile, The Netherlands, Senegal, Israel and more were represented.  Amy Devanney, who taught English in China for one summer, decorated a table from China.  Many who live in the Zeeland/Holland area of Michigan have Dutch roots so of course there was a Dutch Table displayed by Dutch Village of Holland, MI.
In addition, RefuTea, a loose leaf tea company in Grand Rapids that supports refugees was serving tea that was available for purchase.  Corporate sponsors of the event were:  Apache Logistics, Innotec, and Country Club Landscapes.
Along with taking a global stroll in the historic Colonial Clock Building, visitors were able to talk, in real time, via Skype, with our Director of Redeemer Christian School.  Guests were able to ask questions about the lives the children lead in this country in the Middle East.

Redeemer Christian School, supported by RCF, Inc., provides a free, Christian education to orphaned and impoverished children.  A BIG thanks to all who volunteered, displayed, sponsored, and visited this event.
